Why study Japanese? (Why not?)

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to エバン.co.jp. 
This blog will be the best Japanese student blog ever in the history of Japanese classes. 
I am taking Japanese because I would like to talk to people in Japan. I am third-generation Japanese-American (which I think is called sansei, 三世), and so I need to speak Japanese to talk to my family! I also think Japanese culture is really interesting because it's so different than Western cultures, and I'd love to learn more about it. I would like to go to Japan for foreign exchange one day or maybe even work as a JET. Who knows? That's all for now!
